Biography

Dr. Henry O. Ebili is an Anatomical Pathologist, academic, and translational cancer researcher with expertise in surgical pathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology, and computational oncology. He is affiliated with the Department of Histopathology at Olabisi Onabanjo University and combines diagnostic pathology practice with multidisciplinary cancer research.

His clinical practice spans surgical pathology and cytopathology, with interests in gastrointestinal, endocrine, and epithelial malignancies. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression, particularly in colorectal and gastric cancers. His areas of research interest include tumour immunology, microsatellite instability, transcriptomics, biomarker discovery, precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, tumour microenvironment biology, kinase signalling pathways, metabolic reprogramming, glycosylation, HPV-associated carcinogenesis, and genomic instability in cancer.

Dr. Ebili has extensive experience integrating wet-laboratory molecular techniques with bioinformatics and translational research approaches. His technical expertise includes PCR, qPCR, HRMA, immunohistochemistry, next-generation sequencing, RNA-seq analysis, Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), Gene Ontology Enrichment Analysis (GOEA), and R/Linux-based computational workflows. His work emphasizes the development of scalable and cost-effective diagnostic and genomic strategies applicable to both advanced and resource-limited healthcare settings.

Beyond research and diagnostics, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, academic mentorship, curriculum development, and research consultancy, with a commitment to advancing precision medicine and cancer research capacity in Africa.
